& I knew our love will last x3

Shafiq-spearean?!

I was just reading Hani's blog on Romeo and Juliet. She's definitely got her points right.

I must admit that R&J is one heck of a weird play. See, I love Shakespeare too...he's got some deep lines that often make me stop and think (like "My only love sprung from my only hate"..how cool is that?!).

But I think Romiette & Julio (pardon my spelling), has got their life messed up. Romeo apparently falls in love with Juliet and says he never really loved anyone but her. But that is just full of bull$%#$! (Didn't he mention that his 'heart' was with some chick named ROSALINE in the beginning?)

Love at first sight isn't love. It is infatuation. Juliet was desperate to marry Romeo without even knowing his true colours. Those things will affect them if they would have gotten married instead of die. Chances are, if the story goes on there'd be a divorce. (Wowzers! Now that'll be a cool play to watch!) There's defnitely a lesson to be learned, though. Come to think of it, Romeo and Juliet does have something in common as today's "Internet Dating". Not that I have ever had those relationship...I have a life, okay? For God's sake, those people are pedafiles for all I care! Romeo might've been a serial killer too...

So yeah, out of all the Shakespearean play, Romeo & Juliet is the funnest to act out. It helps to prove the potential a person has as an actor. But in terms of relating to reality, it pretty much stinks! Honestly, will I die because some random hot guy I met in the party (who kissed me) killed himself? (HELL NO!)

I'll have to say Hamlet and Antony & Cleopatra just may be my faves =)
I love the madness and revenge in Hamlet (he's such a determined character! How hot is that?!) Oh and true love is definitely portrayed in A&C. Besides, it's based on a true story.

Just sharing my favourite line by Shakespeare from As You Like It :

"All the world's a stage,And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances,And one man in his time plays many parts,His acts being seven ages."
-Shakespeare.
