For three days, for 12 hours each day, my family and I went to an Islamic Conference. Reviving the Islamic Spirit is a youth organization, bringing Islamic Scholars and Islamic Musicians from around the world. Last year, Raihan came. Unfortunately, they didn't come this year. But I did enjoy the music of an English revert named
Hamza Robertson. He sang really well, reminded me of James Blunt. Another cool group was
Outlandish a Denmark trio....they sang a song about how
George Bush is a Monster . LoL...pretty entertaining actually. The song about a Palestinian girl by them was said to be played on MTV a couple of times.
The speeches varied from Islamic History to umm...political stuff. My favourite was about the successful Andalusia age. It was interesting how a part of Spain was once Islamically ruled and it was wildly successful. They had quite a technology...
Anyhow...im all tired out...I'm leaving for Ottawa tomorrow. It will be a looooooong drive up north. But heck, it's the break! I'll catch up with you guys again in 4 days!
